TERMS AND CONDITIONS BLOCK: PRIVATE REVIEWS

1. What is a private review?

When writing a review, you can choose between two options:

Public review: will be visible to anyone and will count towards the business's rating.

Private review: It will only be visible to the business it is addressed to. It is not published, does not appear on their profile, and does not count towards their rating.

Private reviews exist so you can communicate a problem directly to the business and give them a chance to resolve it before your opinion becomes public.

2. What happens when you create a private review

You write the review and choose the private option.

If you're not logged in, you'll be asked to do so before you can submit. What you've written will be saved so you don't have to rewrite it.

The review goes through moderation before being submitted to the business.

Once approved, the business receives it and can respond to you.

The business does not accept reviews rejected by moderation.

3. You decide when it is sent

While your review is saved and unsubmitted, it remains in your account and is not shared with anyone. It is only submitted when you click the submit button.

You can review it, complete it, or add photos before sending it.

4. The private conversation

When the review is submitted to the business, a private conversation opens between the two parties.

The business responds first. Then you respond, and so on.

Each participant has a maximum of 5 responses per conversation cycle.

Changing the visibility of your review does not reset that limit, to prevent the conversation from dragging on indefinitely.

If the review is rejected by moderation, the conversation is closed.

The business is not obligated to respond. If they don't, your review remains yours and you can publish it whenever you want.

5. Your review is never deleted for being rejected

If your private review is rejected by moderators, it is not deleted. It is saved along with the reason for rejection, and you can correct and resubmit it.

6. You can make it public whenever you want

The private review doesn't bind you. You can publish it at any time, and you decide what you share.

Just your review.

Your review and the photographs.

Your review and the response the business gave you.

Two limits you should know:

You can only post the same review a maximum of two times. If you make it public, then make it private again, and then want to post it again, that second post will use up your limit.

If you change the main text of your review, the business's previous response will no longer be shared. That response was from a different version of your review, and posting it alongside new text would give a misleading impression of what happened.

7. What the business cannot do

In private conversation, the business is prohibited from:

Offering you money, discounts, or any compensation in exchange for changing or removing your review.

To pressure, intimidate, or threaten you.

Asking you for personal information beyond what is necessary to solve the problem.

If you experience any of these situations, you can report it from within the review itself or through our support.

8. Your private review is not a complaints service.

A private review is a communication channel with the business, not an official complaint procedure or a way to demand compensation. It also does not guarantee that the business will accept your claim.

Your rights as a consumer against the business are not affected or limited by using this mechanism.

9. Who can see your private conversation

The content of the private conversation is accessible to:

You.

The recipient business.

Platform staff with moderation and support functions, when necessary to review a review, address a complaint or resolve an incident.

It is not published or shared with other users. It is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy : https://www.califica.reviews/privacy-policy
